Allium Neighborhood Supper - Come With An Appetite!

Sunday night, we attended the third Allium Neighborhood Supper. Seven courses of sumptuous dishes including wines for $36, this Neighborhood Supper will definitely become a ritual (if I can get seat - the September dinner is fully booked)!

Miles McCoy of 19th Street Farms
This month, the fresh, organic produce was grown and provided by family owned, 19th Street Farms. Indeed, everything tasted like it had just been picked including the delicious Heirloom Tomato Salad of which I partook in at least three servings!

This was swiftly followed by delicate and tender Draper Valley Chicken with a side of Cous Cous and currents. The second accompaniment, Ratatouille was perfectly balanced without the tomatoes dominating the dish and of course, the vegetables were cooked to perfection - not to soft and not too hard.

Meantime, the wine flowed continually. Whites and Reds to compliment each meal.

The pièce de résistance for us was the Wild Salmon. Kevin reveled in each bite. Leaning back is awe and exclaiming after every mouthful, "It's difficult to fathom, but I think this is the best salmon I've ever had". I believe he may have even been drooling! The juxtaposition of the tender fish against the crispy skin sent our mouths into ecstasy. I would love to see this dish on the regular menu.

Of course, the evening would not be complete without a sweet ending and the Panna Cotta in Raspberry Soup was perfect.

Details Make a Difference: I would have liked a little more time in between the dishes. There wasn't any toilet paper in one of the bathrooms and the hand towels had run out of the machine.
