Being BYO, we stopped by Vintage Cellars to select a wine. For tonight, a Rioja. Cosme Palacio which turned out to be delicious and complemented the food well.
Kind of lamenting that we weren't in a larger group so that we could order more food, we made a reasonable selection without going overboard for just the two of us.
We started with the dips. One I hadn't tried previously was the Hommos b’awarma. A Hommos topped with sauteéd mince lamb, onions & pine nuts. Yum.
The others, a Hommos and a Baba Ghanouj. The hommos was silky smooth and creamy with a hint more of Tahini than is usual.
Zucchini Fries. Haven't seen these since Portland, Oregon. Wow. I had a few but they were an even bigger hit with Kevin who at the entire plate!
Even more impressive was the price. For such delicious food, we paid $63 for the two of us. You pay more than that at the local pubs. For these reasons, this has now not only become my favourite Mediterranean but favourite Restaurant on the North Shore and I cannot wait to return!
